Welcome to J Fox Bedford Books. I live on a small horse ranch in Washington County “The birthplace of Texas.” If you are a horseperson, then you know we are born this way! I did not grow up surrounded by horses, but my earliest memories involve horses. Starting with the first pony I imagined was mine, and named her Cinnamon, in a pasture on the way to my grandparent’s house, to Stony, a big grey ranch gelding that grazes in the fields behind my house now, along with Velvet, a pretty sorrel mare and Fizzy, a little rescue paint pony, horses have always been a part of my life and persona.

A day doesn’t go by that I’m not grateful my horses are just outside my backdoor, waiting for me. Well, maybe I’m not so grateful when it’s pouring rain, crashing thunder and lightening and I have to wade out to the barn to feed. Or when it’s 100+ degrees in the shade for a month at a time. Keeping horses isn’t a hobby, it’s a lifestyle and one that I can’t imagine changing.

I have always been an avid reader, especially of books in a series.

I become very involved with the characters and their stories. In 2022, I had just completed reading a series that I especially enjoyed, and wanted more.

I decided to write my own books! I wanted to create stories and characters that I enjoyed and cared about. As I wrote, my characters took on a life of their own. They became real to me as I hope they will to you.

I like books with happy endings! While my stories have some tension and conflict, it is only to make the read more interesting.
